12 days Everest base camp trek Itinerary

Day 1: Flight to Lukla (2,850m/9,350 ft) 40 minutes, Trek to Phakding ( 2650 m/ 8562 ft ) – Walking Distance (6.2km/3.85 miles) – 3 hours.

A journey to the region of Everest base camp will start after landing at Lukla airport. After that head towards the Phakding which is very exciting as your first-day trek. We have to take an exciting and adventurous forty minutes flight to the Tenzing Hillary Airport at Lukla. 

Then we should begin our trek throughout the Chaurikharka village and also it descends to the region of Dudhkoshi Ghat at 2,530m above sea level, the village of Lukla till we reach the destination of Phakding. This is an obvious short and enjoyable form of a trek and also need acclimatizing to the condition of weather.

With a complete spare time, we may also get a chance to visit some local monasteries around and also help us to prepare ourselves for a long trek for the next day. This is what we need to do as our first-day trip.

Day 2: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,285 ft)- Walking Distance (7.4km/4.6 miles) – 6 hours.

Then our trek continues along the bank of northern of th4e Dudh Koshi River with a wonderful and majestic view that shows the view around. Then we have to cross many suspension bridges over the height of Dudh Koshi River that also include Hillary Suspension Bridge on the way. 

By following this trail we will be arriving at the Sagarmatha National Park check post. This is the point where we get permits to be registered. After that, we head towards the dense lush forests and are a bit challenging for the trekkers. 

In the same way, when you trek further, we will finally reach Namche Bazaar which is also known for a gateway to Everest by crossing stones and woods over the slopes.

Day 3: Rest day and Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

 This is the day third so that you will get to acclimatize here today. We will recommend trekkers to explore and experience Namche Bazar. This town will comprise a restaurant with Wi-Fi, numerous cafes, trekking gear shops, and many souvenirs, etc. 

In addition, there is also an optional point from where you can hike to visit Sagarmatha National park visitor center destination with a beautiful hike to Khumjung. If you want some spices during the period of acclimatization then you must visit Hillary school and old historical monasteries that come en route to Khumjung and hike to the region of Khuda. 

There you can even get to see the Sherpa community or settlement which takes almost one hour away from Namche to see amazing sherpa culture. This will lead you to see traditions, lifestyles, food, and drinks culture of people living from ages. This is how you have to complete your acclimatization.

Day 4: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,855m/12,850ft)-Walking Distance (9.2km/5.72 miles) – 5 hours.

The region of Tengboche is definitely a place with a handcrafted natural beauty. You can enjoy the stunning views of the most beautiful Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Lhoste on the route to Tengboche. This trail is completely snake-shaped so that it will be difficult but even we get a view of massive peaks. 

At the same time you will be spotted with a Wildlife like a pheasant, Himilayan Tahr, musk deer, etc, and home and home to many wild birds. On further going down to cross Dudh Koshi that passes through the lush green jungle, alpine forests. This is how we will be moved to the destination of a small village known as Phunki Thenga.

This is the destination form where you can easily witness the panoramic view of Himalayan peaks. Then you can see an amazing Buddhists Monastery in the region of Khumbu. This monastery is so important for the people of Solukhumbu which is also known as Tengboche Monastery. 

You can join with them in the afternoon for prayer so that the mind becomes peaceful and spiritual. This is how your fourth day trek b became successful.

Day5: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360m/14,290ft)-Walking Distance (12 km/7.45miles) – 5 hours.

On the day fifth, you will be heading towards the upper trail that leads to the destination of Pangboche village. There you should be passing many of chortens, tiny villages, and mani walls on our trail. There you can even see magical peaks Ama Dablam over this region.

After this you have to go further which is less hard as you move to the Imja valley by the Lobuche river. You need to descend from here so that you can go through the steepest climbing towards the region of Dingboche. When we reach Dingboche we will be seeing beautiful crops fields surrounded by stone, walls help for protecting crops like Buckwheat, potatoes, and barley by local natives. 

After all the trek becomes a bit challenging this day in the altitude region. This is how your fifth-day trek remains successful.

Day6: Rest day and Acclimatization at Dingboche Another scheduled

This is a day for rest and acclimatization at the region of Dingboche. This is because at the highest elevation you should be more careful and not pressurize your body temperature. So that you can not be attacked by any kind of altitude-related sickness. 

It means we will not be staying at a small place but we will walk up to the ridge that goes above Dingboche and you slowly enjoy the breathtaking moment due to panoramic peaks. These peaks are seen closure to us with snow-capped mountains like Lhoste and in the backside, you can see Ama Dablam and Island peak. This will make your day almost worth by witnessing another mountain which is the highest in the world among eight like Makalu and Cho Oyu. This is how you can admire your acclimatization day fully.

Day7: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,930m/16,175 ft)-Walking Distance (6.6km/4.10 miles) – 5 hours.

On the day seventh, trekking to Lobuche will be more interesting and this day will able you to see stupendous himilayn views nearby the whole trek. This trek will offer you an uphill near to the ridge on the top that shrines leading the wide valley. 

This is how we will cross the glacial moraine with a small form of lodges here. This trek remains higher which helps us to see some of the better views of peaks as an altitude that slowly increases on the way to Thukla. This region  will show you a partial view of Lobuche and a route to help to wonder our dreams. 

This is the interesting trek by which our seventh day trek remains a success.

Day8: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp and back (5,364m/17,598ft)to gorak shep (5,185m/17,010 ft)-Walking Distance (15 km/9.32 miles) -6-8 hours

This is the important day, we will head Everest base camp in the early morning with a lot of excitement. This region can be trekked throughout the lateral moraine of Khumbu glacier.By this you will arrive at the Gorakh Shep where you can witness the snow capped himalayas looming around us.

Furthermore we should continue our trip to base camp. After having so much trouble, adventure and breathtaking moments, finally you came to the ultimate destination of Everest base camp. This is the region where you can have the closest view and leave the footprints as a lifetime experience. 

Talk as much as a picture as you can so that you can’t miss any chances of getting memories after years to come. We can even see the deepest glacier in the globe that is Khumbu glacier.

Day9:Hike to Kala Patthar(5,555m/18,208ft)-walking distance (1.2km, 0.7 miles) viewpoint, trek to Gorak Shep to Pheriche (4,250m/13,945ft) -Walking Distance (9.6km/6 miles) – 5 hours

The ninth day of trip finally said as the climax We will get to the Kala Patthar at dawn early in the morning to witness the sunrise on the highest peak of Mount Everest and other stunning mountains. 

Kalapatthar is called a famous viewpoint, which also provides you with splendid panoramic views of mountains like Everest and other mountains. There you can even see prayer flags hung along the trail to climb the rocky trails. After that, you need to head towards the Gorak Shep for breakfast and have a bit of rest here.

Day10: Pheriche(4,250m/13,945ft) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,285 ft) -walking distance (14.3km/8.8 miles) 6-7 hrs.

On the tenth day of your Everest base, camp trek day has come to get back down to the lower elevation. This will take you to the Namche crossing Tengboche and the Dudh Koshi river. This is how you will be spending your night in Sherpa town for today.

You will get to experience a variety of food, culture, traditions massive Himalayan peaks, and lifestyle traveling up to here. This is how day ten trek completed.

Day11: Namche Bazaar to Lukla 2,850m/9,350 ft- walking distance (13.5km/8.3 miles)- 6-7 hrs.

Today is the final day of our trip, we will head back to Lukla from Namche Bazar. This is how we will go back to Dudh Kosi valley from the direction, with views that will be entirely different. We have to stay overnight in Lukla and head back to Kathmandu by taking a flight the next day.

Day12: Fly back to Kathmandu

On the last day of our adventurous journey, if everything goes well then it is sure we will head back to the capital in the early morning after having breakfast. It will take a 40 minutes flight back to Kathmandu. When you arrive here you will be taken to a hotel. This is how you complete your amazing journey to Everest base camp.
