Everest 3 Passes 3 Peaks Trek Highlights: Witness...
Paragliding in Pokhara is one of the most thrilling adventures in Nepal. Pokhara has more to it than its natural beauty and boasts of a marvelous paragliding venue at Sarangkot. This adventure sport is a dream come true to many around the world as they fly over the scenic landscapes around the Pokhara Valley. The enticing flight with the clouds offer sights of the Himalayas in Annapurna ranges and others like Mt. Machhapuchhre (6997m) ensuring a different take to mountain viewing.
The paragliding destination, Sarangkot, is a short drive away from Pokhara. Sarangkot is situated to the west of Pokhara and is a popular vantage point to witness the views of the Pokhara valley and the Himalayas, such as Annapurna I (8091m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), and Machhapuchhre (6997m). At an altitude of 1,592 meters, Sarangkot is also the best hotspot for paragliding in the country. There are two ways you can paraglide at Sarangkot; Tandem paragliding and paragliding on your own. On a Tandem paragliding flight, you will be in the company of an experienced pilot during the flight.
On a solo flight, you are the only one jumping off from the jump-point and roaming the skies. Similarly, the price of paragliding varies according to the duration of the flight. The first is a standard 30-minute flight, which costs around $75 whereas the cross-country flight is 40-60 minutes long and costs around $110. You can also get a 5-minute GoPro footage for around $17. After relishing the sceneries and views of the Himalayas to your heart’s content, you land at Lakeside in Pokhara. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best seasons for paragliding.
