Mohare Danda Trek is the short adventurous trek that offers a panoramic view of Annapurna and Nilgiri ranges. Located in the Annapurna region, this trek gives you the pleasure of experiencing the unique culture and tradition of the Magar community. Walking along the forest of pine and rhododendron along with the soothing sceneries, the trek also ensures plenty of wildlife sightings.

The trek culminates at the Mohare Danda which displays the panorama of the Himalayas in a spectacular manner. Although the trek is located in the Annapurna region, its pristine trails grant a thoroughly entertaining journey.

Arriving in Nepal with the company of the Himalayas, you will land at the Tribhuvan International Airport. On the 2nd day, you’ll start your drive towards Pokhara from Kathmandu. It is a scenic drive of seven to eight hours along with the green forests, valleys, and farmlands.

Once at Pokhara, you’ll take a short drive to Galeshwor along the Kali Gandaki River. From Galeshwor, our real trekking begins. Crossing a few suspension bridges and beautiful waterfalls, you’ll now march towards Bans Kharka. The trail passes through the settlement of Nangi and proceeds towards Mohare Danda.

Mohare Danda is famous for its beautiful sunrise and sunset view over the famous snow-capped mountains such as Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II (7937m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), and many other mountains. With a content heart, you’ll now descend downhill towards Ghandruk via Deurali. The Gurung Village is an outstanding destination that is both culturally and naturally prosperous.

Finally, you’ll take a drive back to Pokhara via Nayapul. You’ll also get familiar with the ancient culture and tradition of Magar and Gurung people. Mohare Danda Trek is also the best alternative to Poonhill Trek. Autumn and spring are the best seasons for Mohare Danda Trek.

Outline

Day Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Your arrival in Nepal is signaled by your landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport. After exiting the airport, our staff members will receive you and take you to your respective hotel. As the day does not involve any kind of scheduled activities, you are free to explore the city. Overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, you’ll start your drive towards the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara. Once at Mugling, you'll cross a suspension bridge and move towards the small town of Dumre. The drive will take you through the green forest, valleys, and terraced farmlands. The skyline offers glorious sights of the Himalayas as you head to Pokhara. In Pokhara, you can boat on the Phewa Lake and rejoice the views of Machhapuchhre (6997m) and Annapurna I (8091m). Overnight in Pokhara.
Along with the Kali Gandaki River, you'll drive past small rivers, green forest, and farm villages. After four hours of drive, you'll reach Galeshwor from where our real trekking begins. Ascending through the forests of rhododendron, you’ll move towards a plain valley. From here, you’ll cross few suspension bridges and waterfalls before reaching Bans Kharka. Overnight in Bans Kharka.
Soon after breakfast, you’ll continue your trek in a similar fashion as the day before and go through thick forests. As you reach near the settlement of Danda Kateri, you can enjoy the sublime views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. From here, you’ll cross a few suspension bridges and beautiful waterfalls to reach the village of Nangi. Nangi is a beautiful village where you’ll mostly find the settlement of Magar people. Overnight in Nangi.
From Nangi, you’ll first take a steep climb to the top of the ridge to Hampal Pass at 3098 meters. Once at Hampal Pass, you’ll continue your walk through the forested area and narrow landscapes. After a walk of six to seven hours, you’ll finally reach Mohare Danda. Mohare Danda is famous for beautiful sunrise and sunset view over the several snow-capped mountains such as Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II (7937m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), and others peaks in the Annapurna massif. Overnight in Mohare Danda.
Early in the morning, you'll start your trek towards the beautiful settlement of Deurali. Along the way, you might encounter with engendered wildlife such as musk deer, red panda, and leopard. The trail further passes through the forest of pine and rhododendron. The trail passes the village of Ghorepani and further makes gradual ascend after leaving the village. A short walk along the ridgeline takes you to Deurali. Overnight in Deurali.
On the 7th day, you'll be trekking towards Ghandruk. In the early first hour, the trail passes through the settlement of Banthanti. After a quick lunch at Banthanti, you'll march towards Tadapani crossing suspension bridges and beautiful waterfalls. Finally, walking past several farm villages and narrow stone paths, you’ll reach Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a beautiful village where you’ll mostly find the settlement of Gurung people. There are plenty of places to visit in the village including the Gurung Museum. Overnight in Ghandruk.
Soon after breakfast, you’ll descend towards Nayapul from Ghandruk. It is a four hours walk through the forest of bamboo and oak forest. On the way forward, panoramic views of snow-capped mountains and hills make appearances as you slowly leave their company and descend to Nayapul. Once at Nayapul, you’ll take a short drive to Pokhara crossing farm villages and long terraces. You can even roam around Phewa Lake and observe the nightlife of Pokhara if you have enough time. Overnight in Pokhara.
From Pokhara, it’ll take you about seven to eight hours to reach Kathmandu. Crossing small towns of Dumre and Mugling, you'll move forward enjoying the sublime view of green hills and valleys. After a quick lunch at Naubise, you'll finally reach Kathmandu via Thankot. Once at the capital, you can roam around the Thamel area and buy a souvenir as you prepare to head to your destination. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Today is your last day in Nepal. We’ll drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport two hours prior to your scheduled flight. You can even share your experience with us on the way to the airport. Goodbye!
