Everest Base Camp Heli Trek, like the classic Everest Base Camp Trek, takes you into the heart of the Khumbu region. However, the trek adds a more classy approach of witnessing the majesty of the Everest Himalayas when you head out of the region on a helicopter. The trip is designed for those who want to complete the journey to the Everest Base Camp in a short span of time. The EBC Heli Trek is a glorious adventure into the Himalayas of Nepal with the graceful company of the Sherpa villages en route.

The 11-day Everest Heli Trek starts with your arrival in Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, you take an exciting 35-minute flight and land on the Lukla airstrip. The trail from Lukla passes through the villages of Phakding, Monjo, and Jorsalle. Finally, the forested trail climbs uphill to reach Namche Bazaar. En route, you also enter the Sagarmatha National Park which has an abundance of flora and fauna.

Up ahead at Tengboche, you explore the famous Tengboche monastery which is the largest monastery of the entire region. Late, you head to Dingboche and spend a day acclimatizing at the Sherpa village. Passing Lobuche and the Lobuche Glacier, you move towards the famed Everest Base Camp. En route, you can see the Khumbu Glacier, the longest glacier in Nepal.

Everest Base Camp is the main highlights of the trek which provides up-close and breathtaking views of the majestic mountains and icy glaciers. After spending some quality time at the base camp, you ride the helicopter and fly back to Kathmandu. On the helicopter ride, you can savor the views of the majestic mountains, glaciers, and the beautiful Sherpa settlements. This is a trek with moderate difficulty so, anyone with good physical fitness can try it. The best seasons for EBC Heli Trek are from February to May & September to November.

Day Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu |1,300m

The trip starts with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Our company representative will welcome you at the airport. He/she will lead you to the hotel in Kathmandu. After freshening up, you can explore the nearby areas around the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, you meet up with our tour guide. He will give you the highlights of the day which includes a brief introduction of the places you will be visiting today. Beginning from the Swayambhunath stupa atop the northwest hilltop to Kathmandu Valley, you can explore the peaceful ambiance there. Continuing on the glorious tour, you head to the ancient streets of the Kathmandu Durbar Square. As you make a visit to the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, you settle at Boudhanath stupa for the day. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Today, you fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. The scenic flight offers spectacular views of the lush hills and majestic Himalayan ranges of the Everest region. Upon arrival at Lukla, you meet with the rest of the crew and then start the trek to Phakding. The trail goes alongside the Dudh Koshi River and crosses numerous high suspension bridges before reaching Phakding. Overnight in Kathmandu.
This is a challenging day as you start to feel the change in altitude quickly .After crossing Monjo, the trail enters Sagarmatha National Park where you can observe the exotic flora and fauna of the region. Later, the trail gets steeper and climbs up to Namche Bazaar which is known as the “Gateway to Everest“.
As you have gained high elevation in a short period of time, you take this day to adjust to high altitude conditions. For acclimatization, you can hike up to Syangboche airstrip and observe the panorama of the Everest Himalayas. Khumjung and Khunde villages are brilliant options for hikes as well. These villages are ripe for exploring the Sherpa culture and heritage. Everest View Hotel is yet another destination prime for visiting as you acclimatize at Namche. The sublime views of the Mt. Everest (8848m) and its neighboring mountains form a grand panorama from the hotel. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
The trek starts with a pleasant walk through the forest with majestic views of mountains until Khyangjuma. The trail then goes downhill towards Phunki Thank and later climbs uphill to reach Tengboche. The Imja River keeps us company for most parts as we cross numerous streams and rivers to reach Tengboche. Here, you can visit the Tengboche monastery which is the largest in the Khumbu region. Overnight in Tengboche.
Leaving Tengboche behind, you descend and pass through the lush birch and rhododendron forest. You get to admire the views of Everest (8,848m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), and Lhotse (8,414m) as you move ahead towards Dingboche. On this route you can see numerous yaks and mules carrying supplies from one village to another. Upon arrival at Dingboche, you can enjoy the Sherpa culture and hospitality. Explore around the village for the remainder of the day. Overnight in Dingboche.
This is another day of acclimatization. You can spend the entire day strolling around the picturesque Dingboche village and the surrounding Imja and Chhukung valleys. As per your interest, you can explore the Dingboche village itself, take a look at its way of life and of course visit the magnificent Dingboche monastery. Hiking to the top of the Nangkartshang peak (5616m) is also a great way to adjust to the Himalayan atmosphere. Overnight in Dingboche.
The day starts with an easy walk into the valley. Further you ascend to Thukla and then make a steep climb to reach the Thukla pass (4,830 m). The pass is filled with memorials for those climbers who lost their lives in the mountains. After descending down the pass, you walk towards Lobuche along the Lobuche Glacier. Overnight in Lobuche.
From Lobuche, you follow the undulating trail and into the Khumbu glacier for a while. After getting out of the glacier, you follow the path that leads to Gorakshep. You have lunch at Gorakshep and follow the trail all the way to the Everest Base Camp. From the camp, you can witness up close views of Nuptse (7,861 m), Pumo Ri (7,165 m), and many other mountains in the Everest massif. After visiting the camp, you trek back to Gorakshep. A private helicopter will pick you up and take you back to Kathmandu.
