The trek also introduces the majestic Hindu pilgrimage destination, Khaptad Ashram while also exploring the authentic culture of the residents. Boasting off-beat pathways, the Khaptad Trek is the ultimate experience for those hoping for glorious adventure.
Getting There
The journey begins from the Kathmandu Valley as we head out to the far western region of Dhangadi. Leaving the canopy of the hills behind, we reach the plains of Terai. Flying over exquisite landscapes, we enter the Terai city which offers a completely different contrast when it comes to landscape and views.
Enjoying the diverse culture and way of life of the region we head further west towards Bajhang. Our trek officially kicks off as we make our way out of Bajhang straight up to Khaptad Campsite located at an altitude of 3020m. Located nearby is Khaptad Dada viewpoint which offers stunning views of the entire region.
Making our way through pleasant landscapes adorned with lush green forests we make our way to Khaptad Baba Ashram while also continuing our exploration of Khaptad. The serenity and bio-diversity around the Ashram and the national park are surreal experiences to a nature lover or traveler alike.
Heading down, we make our way to Bichpani Camp which is operated by the National Park. The final stretch of our trek takes us back to Silgadhi from where we head back to Dhangadi. Heading back to the valley we take some time off to tour the UNESCO world heritage site spread around the city of Kathmandu before your final departure. The Khaptad Trek can be undertaken throughout the year; however, spring (March to May) is the best among the bunch.
