The 4 – DaysTibet Tour takes you into Lhasa where you explore majestic architectures like the Potala Palace, Norbulingka, and the Sera Monastery among others. The brief Tibet Tour takes you over the Himalayas and through the desert-like landscape of Tibetan Plateau. Embark on a spiritual tour to the mystical land of Tibet – the Roof of the World. Explore the ancient Tibetan-Buddhist history, culture, and lifestyle along with the greater architecture of Lhasa City.
Tibet Tour begins with a scenic trans-Himalayan flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Covering the distance of 604km, you’ll fly over the Himalayas while overlooking the aerial view of some of the highest peaks in the world like the Mt. Everest (8848m), Makalu (8485m), Lhotse (8516m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), and Cho Oyu (8201m).
The capital of Tibet Autonomous Region of China, Lhasa is also known as the Forbidden Kingdom. The city inhabited by less than 100,000 residents largely follows Tibetan-Buddhism.
You’ll begin the tour with an insightful visit to historical Potala Palace. Also known as the winter palace, it was formerly inhabited by Dalai Lama before his exile to India. You’ll explore the prayer halls, offices, and monumental sites before heading towards Sera Monastery. Sera Monastery is one of the Great 3 Gelug university monasteries in Tibet. The day ends with a visit to Norbulingka Palace, the summer palace of Dalai Lama.
The final leg of the tour takes you towards Drepung monastery, the largest monastery in Tibet. You’ll further visit Barkhor Street and enter Jokhang Temple. You can witness many pilgrims performing Kora in the area. The tour ends with a visit to Barkhor Market. Barkhor is the oldest market in Lhasa. You can find almost anything here. You can undertake the magnificent Tibet Tour anytime between the months of March until November.
