Everest View Short Trek Brief Insight
Everest View Short Trek is a 7-days short trek. The trek is one of the easiest routes to the highest mountain in the world, the Mt. Everest (8848m). Thus, Mount Everest is the main attraction of this short Trek. The trek offers the shortest and a fairly new route to the viewpoint. The trek also takes you to the home of the Sherpa ethnic group.
The Dole village at an altitude of 4200 meters is the final point on the trek. The trails to reach this viewpoint are also easy to follow. Also, you can observe magnificent views of Mt. Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and Nuptse (7861m). Besides, the Sherpa culture is also one of the key features of the trek.
First of all, the Everest View Short Trek begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Therefore, the actual trek starts from Phakding. The third day leads to a sound journey to Namche. At Namche Bazaar, you can interact with many travelers alongside the jolly Sherpas. A short trek from Namche leads to Dhole Village. The trails are pleasantly amusing to all nature lovers and observant travelers.
Dhole village is an underrated vantage point to enjoy the views of the Mt. Everest (8848m). There are many other mountains like Ama Dablam (6856m), Nuptse (7861m), and Lobuche (6119m) that decorate the skyline.
The trail is pristine and less crowded as compared to other treks like Everest base camp trek and Annapurna base camp trek. You can embark on the Everest View Short Trek during March-September usually. It is certainly the best time since the skies are clear and weather warm. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)
Arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and meet our representative who will lead you to your hotel. As you head to your hotel, you can enjoy the blend of modern and traditional practices depicted by the people in the city. Later, you can explore the nearby places and prepare for the trek. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Fly to Lukla (2840m) and Trek to Phakding (2610m) [5-6 Hrs]
A morning flight will take you to the most dangerous airport in Lukla. The flight takes about 30 minutes and provides a picturesque display of mountains like Ama Dablam (6856m) and Thamserku (6608m). Upon arrival in Lukla, you will collect your things and begin the trek to Phakding. The walk goes along the Chheplung village and you’ll be accompanied with views of Mount Khumbila (5761m). Walk along the Dudh Koshi River and cross many suspension bridges to arrive at Phakding. Overnight in Phakding.
Day 3: Trek to Namche (3440m) [5-6 Hrs]
The road from Phakding proceeds towards Namche Bazaar. We will walk along with the pine forests and observe views of blooming rhododendron forests. A bit north from Phakding, lies Chhamuwa and the trail proceeds towards Jorsalle. An ascending trail of at least 3 hours takes us to the beautiful Sherpa village called Namche Bazaar. It is the biggest Sherpa settlement in this region and consists of many modern lodges and teahouses. Overnight in Namche.
Day 4: Trek to Dhole Village (4200m) [4-5 Hrs] Everest View
We will leave Namche and climb towards Khumjung. From here, we head east and reach the widening valley at the periphery of the Dudh Koshi River. The route turns to the north and heads further north towards Mong. This place is known as the birthplace of Saint Lama Sanga Dorje. Navigate down the hill to reach Dudh Koshi once again and enter Phortse Thanga. The steep trail passes many grasslands and we finally arrive at Dhole. This village provides great views of the Mt. Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and Thamserku (6608m), and Lhotse (8516m) among other majestic Himalayas. Overnight in Dhole.
Day 5: Trek Back to Namche (3440m) [4-5 Hrs]
After spending a night in Dhole, we head back to Namche by using the same trail that we had used previously. We need to walk past grasslands and cross the Phortse Thanga again. Visit the Mong monastery once again and find yourself walking on the banks of the Dudh Koshi River to finally arrive at Namche. You can also visit the Hotel Everest View and the Edmund Hilary School on the way to Namche. Be sure to shop for souvenirs as well. Overnight in Namche.
Day 6: Trek back to Lukla (2840m) [5-6 Hrs]
Bid your goodbyes to Namche and proceed to Lukla. The downhill terrain may seem easy but is rather difficult. Slowly make your way past checkpoints like Jorsalle and Chhuthawa to reach Phakding. Take some much-deserved rest here and have lunch here too. Move along the Chheplung village before finally arriving at Lukla. Head to a lodge and take sufficient rest. Overnight in Lukla.
Day 7: Fly back to Kathmandu and Departure
An early morning flight awaits you to take you back to Kathmandu. The flight spans about 30 minutes and shows you the magic of the Khumbu region. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will catch another flight that takes you back to your home. Goodbye and Thanks.
